As soon as I saw this jacket pattern, I knew I had to make it for my sister in law! She picked the fabric – and as she loves bright colours (and purple especially) this fabric was perfect!
I didn’t make too many major adjustments; I lengthened the peplum and shortened the bodice. She has a little bit of a tummy, so I curved the peplum in the front downwards so that it would sit flat and not poke out.
There’s a couple of things I’m a bit unhappy with… I think I took a little too much off the bodice just under the front pleat, and I didn’t notice it in the toile; but the back shoulders strains a bit.
Also my I couldn’t get my button hole machine to work!!! :.\ So I had to make a kind of button hole in the seam of the jacket. I hope it lasts!
But she doesn’t mind :) She thinks its fabulous!!
