I made this dress back in the spring following Gretchen Hirsch’s Sew Retro: Perfect Bombshell Dress class on Craftsy. I must have worn it to every single wedding I went to this past summer. Thankfully, all of the weddings involved separate groups of friends.
Its secret is that it has knights and dragons on the lining. I do love my crazy linings.
You can read more on my blog, Sew Well.
Silk shantung, muslin underlining, cotton lining, spiral steel boning, zipper, batting, hem tape… and more?

I now realize that I have SO underestimated this pattern – because of the weird bow at the belt! When removed, it does look amazing! I’m tempted to sew one for myself for the summer :) irem http://sewingyourstyle.tumblr.com

This dress is great and it must be super fun wearing it knowing there’s a big scene inside it too — well done you!
