This is Simplicity 2406 (Cynthia Rowley) pattern. I had more IKEA fabric in my stash and thought this simple dress (veiw D) would make a cute summer dress. It has pockets which I love in a dress, a long slit opening in the back and a belt. It’s a fairly simple dress to make.

I made it with the opening in back where you do a loop and button closure at the top. You have the option to do the slit opening or a zipper. I’m making this dress again for my daughter with a zipper this time. No elastic in this garment.

nice! I’ve made this pattern a couple of times, though I never seem to be able to get enough fabric to make the belt out of it as well!

The pattern shows additional fabric to make the belt- (5/8 yard). I was just lucky enough to have this fabric on hand and plenty of it.

When i saw the picture I said to myself that “looks like the Cynthia Rowley pattern” that I have yet to make. I love your version. i wanted to use denim, seeing your version i may have to consider a printed cotton.
