I made my own bridesmaids dresses which was an insane thing to do. They turned out well but it was final hour kind of a deal with tears. I addapted a Vogue pattern – again, to semi copy a j.crew dress I liked. By the time I was done, with the cost of the fabric, I should have purchased the j.crew dresses but of course, they wouldn’t have been this wonderful robin’s egg blue.
Dupioni Silk.
My dress was from The Wedding Shoppe in St. Paul, MN

Thanks :) My mom helped me do the hemming and some cutting – and took over when one of the dresses after being altered didn’t fit… what else. Oh, I threatened to sew one girl into the dress. Yeah. It was crazy, but very rewarding.

They’re beautiful and you did a great job! Love love love the color :) My favorite! I also can’t believe you did it – amazing. I could never imagine. My mother made mine, and it was hard even for her to squeeze them into her schedule, much less me. Wow!
