I was in charge of designing 4 different dresses for my brother’s wedding. We wanted a dress we’d like to wear after the event! My mom sewed 3 of them and I sewed mine. It took about 8hrs total (a lot of topstitching as I use that as a decorative finisher). Gorgeous fabric, but probably not the best for a hot Colorado May wedding… :)
Vogue shirt pattern adjusted for the bodice.
Polyester/nylon black with red flower fabric, designed by Joann’s Fabrics.
Polyester lining.
Black polyester/cotton thread.
Measurements for skirt (from drop waist to hem).

Tons of ruffling! Did you find that difficult?

sorry for the gap…but no, it wasn’t difficult because the old singer i was using didn’t stitch well. so any slippery or knit fabrics it sheared as i went along. at first i was upset, but it really added to the appearance. the pattern was made to be gathered doubled-up for a complete shearing, but that takes too much fabric!
