Everybody knows the movie „Breakfast at tiffany’s” with Audrey Hepburn. And usually every one thinks of the long black dress or the shorter one with the bouquet feathers for the party in connection with Holly Golightly. And I’m sure that only a few people noticed how beautiful the pullover is she’s wearing in lots of scenes!
But why am I telling you that? I needed a vintage top for my Bridgitte Bardot trousers.
And what fits better than this pullover?
Luckily I already had vintage patterns from the 50s. Actually it was coincidence, because I only bought them because of the trousers (still in work).
In July 2011 I cut a trousers from “123 Burda 06/2011”.
First I thought it wouldn’t take much time, but it didn’t meet my requirements. That’s why I trimmed it about 50 times in the hope to be able to correct the fit through working on the trousers, not the patterns. In the end I trimmed them apart into 4 pieces and cut them like my perfect trousers from the 50s.
