East Lansing, Mi...
I made this skirt from an old button down dress shirt that my boyfriend was going to give to goodwill. It’s the first slightly wearable thing I have made. I folded the shirt in half vertically and cut straight across underneath the underarm. I then added several pleats to the back, and two in the front. I didn’t take the skirt in at all because I wanted it to be full and comfy, but it would be very easy to do so. I cut the sleeves along the hem and used that fabric to create the waistband/belt. I didn’t finish the bow partly because I was lazy and partly because I thought it gave it an organic look (like a bcbg dress that I have).
