Description

I love this cardigan. It’s so comfy and go with everything. I drafted this from Japanese magazine. I will redesign, redraft and upload the pattern if you like this sort of cardigan.

I’m thinking of lifting the drop shoulder up a little bit. Change the pockets. Add the band to the cuff so that it matches the hem. Do you like this neckline or scoop neck (more round?)?

Material Notes

cotton jersey

I Love love love the cardigan. And it looks stunning on you.
I know that this might be a bit late but is there anyway that you could put up the pattern? I know a few variations that I would love to try with this cardigan.

Thanks in advance and really great job:D

Oh, I would love it if you created a pattern out of this! I’ve been wanting to make a cardigan once I’ve gotten more experienced in sewing but the mens’ Andrew cardigan is much too big for my petite size, especially the broad shoulders. Once you do post up the pattern, please do leave me a message? :)

I love it. You’ve done a great job as always. I certainly would be interested if you uploaded the pattern. It would make a nice combination with Elaine’s Coffee Date Dress.

I really like the round-scoop neck the way it is, but I agree with the shoulder-raise. I like the pockets — they make it look like a “boyfriend” cardi. But it would be very cute with different pockets and a little belt maybe … I love it. I can’t wait ’til you upload it!

Maybe I will not be able but I would like a cardigan like this one – I agree with your redisigning ideas. As I am a petite, dropping shoulders are not for me… Thank you for sharing!

Love it and I would love to see the pattern uploaded! I agree with reducing the dropped shoulder somewhat. Right now it kind of reminds me of the 1970/80’s shoulder lines sans the necessary linebacker shoulder pads. (I am so glad we have moved on from that era. I have no desire to relive my high days with Farah Fawcett hairstyles.) I like the pockets as an adornment, but personally I would leave them off. I am ‘use the pocket if I got it’ kind of gal and patch pockets on a stretchy knit cardigan (with my keys shoved in them) just really ruin the overall look. I also like the idea of banding the sleeve edge, but only because I constantly push my long sleeves to a 3/4 sleeve position. I give your creation a thumbs up! Keep up the good work.

Amandamargaret, I love the neckline and the pockets too but I don’t want to copy the original design too much. I think I will draw two necklines and two pockets sot that you get the options. Thanks for the input.

i like this sweater. i would absolutely LOVE the sweater if it had not-so-dropped shoulders and the band on the cuff you mentioned. i love the neck line and pockets as is though. but, those are things most of us can change if we really wanted. this is great. i look forward to seeing the pattern! thanks jj!
