Description

Wanting a sweatshirt that did not look like an ordinary sweatshirt, this pattern was perfect. An updated boxy sweatshirt with 3/4 length cuffed sleeves and triangular inset side seams that hides an inner kangaroo pocket is as comfy as it is cute . Love everything about this pattern – except the pocket. The hidden inner kangaroo pocket was one of the design features that drew me to this pattern but it hung down unsightly and added bulk to the front. After removing the pocket, the shirt hangs and drapes nicely. I love it and wear mine constantly! Already planning another! I really like the look of this boxy sweatshirt 111a, but without the diagram to go along with written instructions I’m having trouble attaching pockets. Can anyone clarify this for me.

I inserted the pockets sort like I would an in-seam pocket, but on the diagonal as per the pattern, then after the pocket was in, I completely understood the instructions! BUT after the pocket was in, it sagged unsightly below the hemline because there is no top-stitching to hold the pocket bag up and in place. Not wanting to stiffen the front, nor have the top-stitching show, I simply deleted the pocket on both this top and the next one I made. I’ve made two versions and if you click the link in both posts here, you can see a little of what I am talking about.. Good Luck! I love both my versions of this cute top and wear them constantly! :)
