Description

I happened across the bowtie pattern here and decided I needed an excuse to add some dapper to my life. So I made six of these for my pub crawl/scavenger hunt team to wear last weekend. These are super simple to make and so fun to wear.

I highly recommend using the string method for turning the points.

Material Notes

I was going for cheap so I used a textured faux silk polyester fabric. It worked out really well and I didn’t have a problem with fraying. I didn’t have time to get the sliders (but I did find a place online that sold them) so I just used velcro at the back. The bonus of using velcro is that you only ever have to tie it once.

Jefita, the Velcro is a great option! 1. Neither the pattern nor the instructions indicate a seam allowance. What allowance did you use? Step 4 states to trim to 1/8" after sewing, but that’s all. 2. And what kind of interfacing did you use? There are so many weights, fusible, and non. Thank you.

I’m looking for the sliders! What is the address of the online retailer, please?
