Description

I saw a top a bit like this in a shop a few weeks ago, although it was all black. I was slightly reluctant to make one when I found out they were very popular at the moment. I tend not to follow fashions. It made me think about a discussion I once had with one of my friends : she said that if you don’t buy something in fear of being a “follower”, you are still being influenced by deciding to do the opposite to other people.

Anyway, I made the top with contrasting bows and trim, and I love it!

I had planned on putting something on the front, but I decided to leave it simple. It closes at the back with a popper on the first bow.

    What your friend said is quite interesting. I think you should make, wear, (and also behave and be) what you want, and not make or not make something only because of others, although this is easier said than done… Also, as a sewer, you can always make it your own like you did here! About your top- the back is really nice! I like how you used contrasting colours, that way the bows stand out :)

      Yes exactly! I should not let my stupid “need” to be different also influence me not to do things I want. This is also something I like about sewing, everything garment is unique :)

    J’adore ton top, je le trouve super classe en noir et blanc comme ça, avec un devant tout sage pour un dos qui en jette, bravo ! Les photos en noir et blanc sont superbes !
