Description

At Tafe this term I have part taken in a bra making course. Very basic, only 8 weeks, we used patterns and kits from an australian website boobytraps.com.au.

We used pattern ‘Boo 3’ Very traditional style. We did samples and then this is the first complete bra we have made. It’s in my size, 10B, however it needs alot of perking to actually fit me!

They are quite quick to put together once you gte the hang of it, and the kits you can buy from the website really make things easy, as it sends you everything you need, besdes the underwire. Makes the issue of fabric matching and sourcing much easier!

My next one I will be doing i will fit the cups a bit better to me, or will probably insert moudled cups instead, and widen the underband. Also use some prettier fabrics!!

Not sure what to do with this one now :-/?

anywho much fun was had =^_^=

OMG, it’s great! I love how you used the lining on the inside!!!!

I’ve just finished my first bra (2 days ago) and it was not a painful process as I used to think before. Next step, I’ll try to draft my own pattern. Also, I’d like to learn how to use the cups. Too bad you don’t blog about it :(

    Anyway, amazing job!

Your bra looks great. Getting the fit right always takes some trial and error. It is possible to learn and teach yourself (a good book helps a lot), but it does take a lot longer than 8 weeks.

our class i feel could have been done in a couple weeks less. As one of my previous teachers there said, sometimes its just good to do something like that just so that time is put aside. otherwise its something you’ll say you will do but never get aroiund to! im going to take a pattern from another one of my bras i think and try and make one from that. also bought some patterns on etsy that will be much more suited to me! thanks for your lovely words :D

I kept telling myself that i would learn and teach myself. honestly if you were to buy the pattern i did, it would be relatively easy for you to go through it and teach yourself. the hardest part really is having the ability to sit down and teach yourself, oh and as well as the fitting!
