Description

I loved this when I saw it on Burda, but when I made it I decided to skip the pleats at the front, and omitted the elastic at the waistband in favour of a fitted waistband. This is because I’m really an apple shape and I don’t like any bulk around the tummy area. However, this fabric is so light it wouldn’t have mattered, I don’t think, and I wish I’d kept them in now!

I’m learning though – I fitted the trousers to the waistband that I’d made sure fitted me! Only thing there though, I wasn’t left with much to gather on the front bodice.

Oh, and I didn’t see the instruction for interfacing the slits etc – until it was too late :(

I might make them again, only properly this time!

Material Notes

Cotton lightweight jersey from FABRICLAND, Bournemouth, UK. We stopped by on our way home from the Dorset coast – hence the big stash!

Very nice jumpsuit, I like the fabric, very cool! And I think I prefer it without the pleats. Fits you well!

This is really gorgeous! I prefer it without the elastic waistband and I also noticed that it doesn’t “sit” on your shoulders, too, just like mine. I’ve been wondering If I’d made a mistake. I’m sure you’ll wear it a lot!

Thanks, you. Yeah that shoulder thing. If I move the gathers around a bit, they go down, but then the back seems to gape open too much.

And if you look at the red Burda version on the model, that one has got the wrinkly stand-up shoulders, too! So, if it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for me!

Thank you, Mary. Yeah it is a really good value shop but delivery is quite expensive if you order online, so if you’re at one of the stores, fill yer boots!!! x

Thank you, Beccki. I’m looking forward to wearing it with a nice tan… :) But I always wanted a lightweight pastel print jersey for it, really – but that’s so hard to find!
