Burda Style For people who sew
Description
Here are the latest corset that I sewed. For the first time I drew myself the pattern and I immediately saw the difference in curves. I placed a busk for the first time too … but I can not open it because my fabric is too thick! Another thing, I calculated an excessive waist reduction and the opening in the back is a little too big…I will not make that mistakes next time! : )

Wow, that’s a great corset! Judging from the picture of the back, the issue isn’t (just) with the waist reduction you calculated but more with the hips. It’s always hard to combine the waist reduction you want with the not nearly as ‘compressable’ areas above and below it: ribcage and hipbones. I’d say that because the sides curve down as low as they do (which is a great look, by the way) your corset would have needed a bigger hip spring (difference between waist and hips) yet than it already has. Keep up the good work, I look forward to seeing more of your creations.
