The first project on my new Bond knitting machine. The general idea for the sweater came from a picture on the Phildar’s site. I tried to make the same sleeves, but they came out much wider. I liked the result and decided to keep them like that. The Phildar’s creation doesn’t have a knitted body, so that part of the sweater was all mine idea. Not all of the sweater was made on the Bond. I hand knitted the ribbed edge around the neck and at the front closure. I crocheted around black plastic buttons.

It took me about 8-9 hrs. However it was my very firs Bond Project and I have to admit I was too ambitious with it because I struggled a bit in the begining and had to start over few times. It would be very helpfull if I practiced small/simple pieces first as the instructions recommend.

Bond machine takes practice to master. I had to start over my sweater few times before I mached the right size of the plate with my yarn and cable design. It tought me to always make a sample square (40×50) like the instructions say. It takes only couple minutes on the bond and saves a lot of time later on. If you get the machine you should watch the video at least twice before starting a project. It makes a lot of sense.

Miss Lauren; I would give away my sweater to be in your Tropical North Queensland Australia at this moment. New York weather right now is nothing to brag about; rainy and gray.
