I made this summer outfit of linen pants and knit top using Burda Style Pants Pattern 116 from February 2007 and Burda Style Top Pattern 111 from July 2010. The gathering for the top was quite challenging – I ended up hand stitching the band over the front gathering with invisible thread as I was having trouble controlling my machine stitch. If I were to make the pattern again I would also be careful not to put too much gathering in the midriff area and instead focusing on enhancing the bust area. I love pants with functional pockets and this pattern delivers.

I love this outfit – I overlooked that top pattern because it looked really boring in grey, but you’ve given it a really classy look – well done
