I like this pattern a lot but I’m getting pretty fed up with patterns having miles and miles of ease designed into them. That said, even with the alterations I made to the pattern, and even though I’d never sewn an Oxford before, and even there were no pictures in the instructions, it came together pretty well.
I like that this shirt ended up with a menswear vibe. I love wearing it with pearls and a pencil skirt!
A “Swiss cotton made in Italy”, with a small grey-blue stripe.

That’s a great looking work blouse! Well done. I am thinking of making one for my sis and perhaps as you mentioned wrt the ease issue I should make a muslin first? Or maybe just come down two sizes?

Thanks! I’m definitely looking forward to making more of these. I’m planning to make some for my boyfriend as well.

Love it. I keep meaning to try sewing a button-up shirt with a collar… but it seems so daunting!

I felt the same way. I was super meticulous with cutting everything out and my collar and collar stand still ended up a bit long, but from reading the posts of others who have tried this pattern, it seems to be a problem with how this pattern is drafted. I’d still recommend this pattern. Once you get started, the construction is actually pretty obvious.
PS, I follow your blog. Well done on the lovely jacket! a shirt would be a breeze comparatively.

Thanks! I’m trying to learn how to wear volume and with the shirt being a bit billowy, I figured I should wear something slender on the bottom.

Thank you! I used 04/2010 Long Sleeve Blouse. There’s actually a link on the right side of this page that you can click right through. At the bottom of that page, you can check out all the projects made from that pattern. How awesome is that?
