I really learned a lot about working with silk doing this. I made all my own facings and bindings out of the silk and it made a big difference in the finished product. It was a pretty simple pattern, and I have to say, probably not a favorite, but it made it easy to perfect my silk finishing. I feel more comfortable tacking a more complicated project with some of the silk I’ve been saving. The sleeves, waist and neckline have elastic casings. I used off white lace and some trim made of little felt balls I found that matched the silk perfectly. I thought it gave it an unusual texture.
