I was so excited to see this dress. I voted for you a few weeks ago. I just bought a Japanese pattern book on Ebay. I have a friend who is helping me translate it to enlish. Thanks for sharing your creation.

Thank you.
Actually I bought the fabric in Solo. I’ve seen some batik fabric in Tokyo, but of course the choices are pretty limited :)

Could you make a pattern and post it (or sell it on etsy)?

Glad that you like it!
I still find it difficult to make a pattern and convert it into a pdf file. Maybe I will do it once I found a suitable method.
But you can alter a loose A-line dress pattern to make this. Just add a few centimetres in the middle to make a pleat and stitch the pleat until around the chest.
Then you can add the pockets and trimmings.
Hope it helps!

Your dress is very nice and looks great on you. The use of the pom poms is good too. I won’t look at the pom pom trim at the fabric store the same way anymore. Very nice photo as well.
