After a couple of years of toting around my Goodwilled Kennith Cole messenger bag I have been in dire need of a new purse, and a new color. I chose this pattern because it seemed pretty simple and I could finish it in a day for a big show coming up and I love it! I added a few of the flowers from my Mint Petals project and ended up adding one to my raincoat just for a splash of color, now I just need to scotch guard the crap out of it to be more wrinkle resistant.
I really liked the lining and used a mystery fabric (polysester perhaps?) to give it some weight, as well as some green trim to add contrast.
The inside pockets turned out absolutely perfect for my Slingshot planner, which is importants since I cannot make it a week without! It is the perfect sidekick, with reading lists, random yet important dates, and the essential menstrual calendar, this is found on the lovely Buy Olympia site and i suggest it for any crafty person!
I wish I had chosen a heavier fabric, I picked a plaid cotton flannel printed off grain and half-off and its pretty soft, yet not durable and I swear it sucks lint out of the air wherever I go….
