Description

I need a maternity swimsuit and got inspired to make one last night. Here it is!
I used the vintage swimsuit sloper from here: http://www.ralphpink.com/pattern-cutting/womenswear/swimwear. I altered it to fit my large belly by lengthening the torso 8 inches and widening it by about 2 inches and using the extra 8 inches in 7 pleats on the sides. I finished the top off with a shelf bra.
It turned out to be a very quick project and I’m likely to make another in another color before the month is out.

(sorry about the poor photo….)

Hooray for you and your new swimsuit and your baby. I hope you both will enjoy floating around in the water!

Fantastic job! I love it and your choice of shorts-type legs.

Thank you. I’m a fan of a conservative leg line for me.
