I made this to wear to a ball we attended recently. Actually, I started making the bodice a year ago and have a bit of a throuble to fit into it now, when I´m much bigger in the chest :). The fabric is some kind of silk, which was horrible to work with. Wrinkling, slippery and unraveling like crazy. Those blue threads are everywhere… But I really like the color and felt great in the dress. To make the top I tried to copy a golden top that I found in a thrift store (last photo). My mother helped me sewing those pintucks – with the slippery silk, these were difficult to make.

not everyone has a silk dress, but you even manage a maternity silk dress! very noble, especially in this beautiful shade of blue.

thank you! I´m not sure what kind of silk the fabric is… I imagine it´s not pure silk, but some kind of synthetic. I got huge amount of it for free. Maybe I´ll be able to wear it after the birth too, empire waist style (if the dress doesen´t fall into thousands of threads untill then :)
