This was my first ever dress I ever did make.. ever. I made it for a high school fashion show in 2007 and didn’t know what the heck I was doing. I didn’t know about “patterns”, so I simply lay down on the fabric and traced around my body. I was afraid of zippers at this point, so ended up sewing a bazillion buttons into the back. Nobody told me about “button holers”, and therefore, managed to make the holes on my own. I do enjoy how the button loops made out of trimming at the back look like lassos, though.. I also didn’t know about the wonder that is “trimming”, so I made all the brown trim myself, rolling velveteen and sewing it up by hand. Actually, this entire project was made by hand, because apparently I wasn’t aware of “sewing machines”, either.
