Description

A fitted pencil skirt. This version includes wandering panel seams and a small walking slit in back.
Absolutely everything is great about this pattern.
I shorten the skirt by 5 cm, as I am a petite, above the slit mark, in order to keep the tapered hem. No other alterations. But I hesitated to add a kick pleat instead of the slit. In the end, I figured the slit would show more skin ;-P which is ok by me, since the skirt is modest and covers my knees!
I also added a full lining. And completed the whole thing without any hand sewing. Just because I hate it so much!
I also sewed asymmetrical miter corners at the bottom slit. And sewed in the ditch for the waist seam, after moving the lining out of the way, so essentially, to the facing seam allowance without catching the lining – beautiful finish.
I love this skirt. Love the unusual colour for this type of garment.
