My mom has a thing for blue. Blue clothes, furniture, make up, everything.. And if it’s not blue, it’s purple.
Somehow this has caused me to have a distaste for blue clothes as a teenager. But since I’m not a teenager anymore, I decided it was time to get over it.
This is my first self-made blue garment. Made it last summer, and I have to admit: there is nothing wrong with blue. Apparently I have some catching up to do because I bought 2 blue fabrics in March. The first has already transformed into a cardigan, and the second is ‘under construction’. Looks like I’m getting over it.
The pattern is Burda 04/2009 – 110B.
I made size 36 but it turned out to be a bit too loose. In my case, the length from shoulder to chest was too high. Therefore, the seam that is supposed to be just under your breasts was too low and the decollete too deep. I solved this by taking in the shoulder seams. I you want to use this pattern, I recommend you take measurements and if necessary adjust the pattern.

Love the top and the color in particular. I just checked and luckily I have the Burda issue at home. I guess I have to make one for myself when I will have the heart to try sewing with knits…
