I live in a large house with three other girls that is covered in hardwood floor. While I love having hardwood floors, we can never seem to keep them completely clean because all the traffic. I often find my feet getting a little too dirty from walking around barefoot in my house. Because of this predicament, I wanted a very lightweight and comfy slipper to wear inside that was quiet and felt almost as if I was wearing nothing. So I found the Dorothy Ballerina Slipper pattern and some spare, lightweight fabric and whipped these together pretty quickly.
I used a soft rayon for the blue and white striped outside, a gray t-shirt material (100% cotton) for the inside lining, a felt layer in between the lining and the sole, and a plastic/rubber slipper material for the sole.

These look very nice and comfy! Good you found that non-slippery fabric for the soles! I guess that the material is not just safer for walking but also sturdier than my felt soles which got holes after a year in use.
