Gigi modelling another of my girl’s dress. I just loved this pattern from a magazine and had this fabric which was meant for curtain and decided to try it. It turned out so nice that I thought I’d try and sell it… We’ll see… fingers cross.

Wow, I don’t see why you can’t sell it! It’s beeautiful by the way! Saying that you have to draft your own pattern to sell a dress or anything is absurd.

I really love this dress, but I don´t think it´s ok to sell it, if it´s made with a bought pattern… I think you can only sell it if you drafted the pattern… sorry to say that.

You’re of course entitled to your opinion. I’m not making mass production of it so I don’t see why I can’t sell a sample of something I bought with my money and that I made with love and care. I bought the magazine and paid with my money, I bought the fabric and used my electricity and my time and I am entitled to sell it if I want to. If I had a child she could use it, but as God has not blessed me with one, I will sell it. Burda Style actually says that you can sell things made with their patterns as long as you don’t make mass production of them. I don’t think you’re sorry to say that actually, otherwise you wouldn’t have made the comment.

As far as I know, you can sell garments made with Burda Style patterns – with those that are free.
Of course you can sell it if you want to… but than you should probably sell it somewhere else than on Etsy, and you should add a note about where the pattern came from. I know a lot of people do this, on Etsy and elsewhere. But I don´t think it´s right according to copyright… I´m not used to making negative comments like this, so I don´t feel very well… but I just wanted to say this, as a simple fact – I have nothing against you of course.
