oh so comfy blue thai fisherman’s pants. I looked at the thai fisherman’s pants instructions, but made my own pattern and it worked out quite well.

Hi Omatic, i was wondering if you’d be available in the next 24 hrs for an email conversation about the pattern you made. I feel like just cutting it out, because i’ve sketched & sketched, and don’t honestly see what’s so difficult about them. But then I get other voices cautioning about how even though this is a super easy pattern in theory, be wary of the crotch-piece & what-not. To summarize, aren’t Front & Back just mirror images of each other, and you’d better have Left Leg & Right Leg symmetrical? (even though they are pieced together from different pieces in Front & Back). It’s not like the so-called crotch pieces connect, is it, except along the inseam 1/2 between front & back along the inside… Ok, maybe i’m just writing aloud, yet i’ve found other people’s comments on various instructable-type forums helpful, so i’m not shy about exposing my own thought-processes! Nice job on the trousers; they hang really well! Beauties. Thank you, Sylvia

Go for it! The only non-rectangle part are the crotch pieces, which are the same on the front and back.(sides and top are just big rectangles) I just looked at the pictures in the instructions and drew my own pattern. I think I made these a little big, but they are sooo comfy and you can wear them anywhere: work, yoga, fancy night out, or lounging around the house. I would try your pattern out w/ cheap material first, but they are pretty easy to make. Just take a good look at the instruction photos and you should be fine. Good luck!

I don’t really like Thai Fisherman’s pants, they always seem a bit on the sloppy side to me, but you’ve managed to make them look tailored! I really like them on you, they look quite classic. Well done :-)
