I made this vintage inspired top/jacket to wear to work. I am a nurse and our dress code is navy blue. I thought this smock would be nice to wear.
I used an under-stitching technique for the facing where instead of using a straight stitch, I used a three step zig zag (W=3mm, L = 2mm). I stitched as close as I could to the seam. This resulted in a neckline that folded fairly easily, no facing flipping. Instead of catch-stitching by hand to secure the facing, I ran another line of topstiching over the first.

Thanks, I wore it to work yesterday and it was. I think it is a little wide on me though. It was an 18W size I used so if anyone wants the pattern (I traced it so it is uncut) let me know and you can have it for postage!
