In stead of making a dress in a “dressy” fabric I did it in two pieces, so I can wear either piece with something else and dress them down, for a more casual occassion.
The top is made from a corset pattern, with just lining and the fabric. The skirt is a half circle skirt.
Blue silky fabric (not sure exactly what it is, it’s very lightweight). Invisible zippers. Lining. White silk ribbon (hell to put on).
My pattern book for the corset pattern and howto on the skirt.
