This is a denim skirt using the Miss Chalmers pattern from Papercut Patterns a new independent from New Zealand.
I added slash pockets to the skirt at the front and a welt pocket at the back using wzrdreams tutorial which I have linked. I would recommend this tutorial to anyone who hasn’t done welt pockets before. I nearly gave up with them on this project before finding this tutorial. The welt and the pocket are all in one and so much easier than wrangling with a welt strip.
I fully lined the skirt using the back skirt pattern pieces for the lining and adapting a pencil skirt front pattern I have for the front lining.
I experimented with bound seams using a fancy ribbon that I had in my stash. It wasn’t being used for anything else so why not? I also finished the hem edge with seam binding and then blind hem stitched with the machine as normal.
I used quite a heavy weight denim and top stitched with light blue topstitching thread.
