Burda magazine 5-09-117B dress. This is a great pattern. A few issues with fitting – the top was quite a bit too big, but it may have been the fabric has a LOT of give. I had started making a shirt dress, and was pretty much finished but it just looked so bad, very frumpy and generally unnattractive . So I ended up unpicking the entire thing and making this dress instead, which is why a few checks are off a bit – I had to sew a few bits of fabric together…. what a mission… ANYWAY! It all worked out ok, but the midriff part is a little messy but I wear a belt so I’m not too worried. All in all I really love the dress.

Hi! I am making this dress now. I love the pattern and love your make of it, if it all works out I might make another one! I am wondering how you did the sleeves, or rather the sides, front and back. I find it a little complicated. Did you have any challenges with that? Do you think you could help me?

I think this looks fab – it just shows that with a little vision you can make something far cooler than the original in the magazine, nice one!
