This blazer was made using the blazer pattern from the Japanese sewing book “Feminin Masculin” by Yuko Takada.
I fell in love with this book as soon as I saw it-it was love at first sight.
Alas, I should hav known there’s no such thing!
(For those of you who are brave, you can find the book here:)

This is the only thing I’ve made from this book, and it probably will be the last.
Why?
The fit as horrendous.
Most of us buy commercial patterns so that we don’t have to make our own.
Well, I might as well call this my own pattern since by the time I was done with it (after many fittings) it was basically a completely new pattern!
And usually, I don’t have one of those bodies that’s super difficult to fit.
I guess it’s still wearable but I’m just really glad I didn’t use any expensive fabric for this projet!
I even made double welt pockets and bound buttonholes, so it’s too bad I’m not in love with it :(
Blue twill, possibly poly/cotton blend
Polyester lining
1 cute wooden button
