My first sewing project in a year or so!
My mum had this 3×1.5m blue batik wall hanging sitting in her sewing materials box for the last 20 years. I finally convinced her to let me do something with it, and this is what i did!
I couldn’t bring myself to cut up the fabric (it has a cute fishing scene) so i made it ALL the skirt. I’ve always liked trains on dresses…
The top is adopted from the African Dress pattern.
It kind of reminds me of a Balinese Turuna Jaya dance costume.
Yay!

I love it. It is gorgeous (in one word). I’m envy about that dress and your mother.
