This is the third time I attempted this pattern (Simplicity Built by Wendy 3964). I found the inset difficult but I am pretty happy with this one!
I LOVE animal print and got this fabric pretty cheap at my local fabric shop although it is a bit slinky and hard to work with!
Some blue self patterned poly I think, left over from my first attempt at this pattern. Animal print slinky chiffony type stuff.

Hey thanks for the compliment. I love your fabric selection and I think the top looks great! I always have a problem with Simplicity pattern sizes, its always too big!!

yours looks great. i just made my first one and after reading everyone’s reviews i was shocked that the inset wasn’t as impossible as reported. my ruffles weren’t perfect, but i’m happy with it. i made the 12 as my dimensions were spot on with the one listed. i’m even a bit busty compared to my other dimensions and it was still a bit loose where it ties in the back. i’ll post mine soon. next time i’ll make the 10. good thing i traced out the pattern!!

Thanks!
I trace too!(mostly because I’m so bad at working out sizing and don’t want to ruin the pattern!)
I can’t wait to see your version, I’m really tempted to make another one, maybe with a few mods!

I have made this pattern three times as well – I keep seeing other people’s versions and thinking they look good. I am getting good at doing the insert though! I haven’t worn one of my versions yet …. somehow they never seem right. Maybe it’s my fabric choice. Yours looks great!

How is the sizing on this pattern? I have been eyeing it for awhile but after buying (and loaning out-never to see again) Sew U, the sizing runs a little small on her patterns for me.
Great job on the blouse- I like the solid inset and yoke <3

Thanks!
I found the sizing quite big, I think there is a lot of ease in Built by Wendy patterns?I made a size 12 (I am a British 12-14 in normal clothes) and it is roomy and comfortable,a little loose under the arms.I made a 14 before and it was HUGE!
