Blue dress with white stripes, adapted from a pattern in a Japanese pattern book.
I foolishly washed the tie silk I used to make this dress before using it (I think it should have been dry cleaned only) and the colour ran, which has left it slightly mottled and not as crisp and shiney as when I bought it.
Also, it’s a bit tight – I tend to make things a size smaller than I need when using US/European patterns, but this turned out to be exactly the size it claimed to be.
None the less, I am happy with the dress, I just have to be careful when I’m walking in it!

I love the different directions of the stripes! Simple idea but very elegant result!

So pretty and chic! I love how you did the contrasting stripes on the bodice.

A nice, classic pattern. It looks good on you. I love the japanese sewing books.
