If you haven’t seen the movie “Repo! The Genetic Opera”, you probably won’t know what I’m talking about, but I’ve decided to make Blind Mag’s cloak from the song Chase the Morning. I bought the materials, and have altered a cloak pattern. I haven’t started sewing quite yet, but am eager to begin. I’ve just started sewing about a year ago, so if anyone more experienced could take a look at the picture, and give me any tips or pointers, I would appreicate this a whole lot! Once it’s done, I’ll surely upload some pics of the finished product. Thanks a bunch! =)

I wouldn’t try to line it, just do Hong Kong seams, or use pinking shears to make sure the fabric doesn’t unravel.
Also, where did you get the fabric? I’ve been commissioned to make this same coat but I’m having trouble finding fabric.

I can’t help you but I think that Repo is amazing! Have you seen the extras on the DVD?

I bet that belt thing would be easy to make if you can get your hands on some WIDE (4"-6") elastic, some black vinyl, pvc, or patent leather and maybe some metal findings if you can source them. Good luck, this is a cool costume.
