A whip-it-up tonight to wear tomorrow kind of project.
I used the waistband pattern piece from the Wiksten Skirt pattern, but made the rest up. The skirt is basically a reimagination of her original pattern, but with gathers, a narrower placket and more buttons.
The material was a project in its own.. I used this tutorial by rennes-le-château: http://myevaforeva.blogspot.com/2010/01/guest-post-by-julia-okun-of-rennes-le.html to bleach dye some basic black cotton, and it ended up making a really interesting print.
