Description

I made this costume for my daughter’s Halloween casual dress day 2009 in her school. She likes Japanese anime so she requested this costume. The costume is a three piece clothing and a long white cotton belt. The black pleated pants is called the Hakama. There are two tops, one white kimono like shirt and a black version of that. The shirt is called the Uwagi, the sleeves are actually rectangular in shape. I made it in 2 days.

There is no paper patterns use. I kind of researched the step by step instructions from different sites in the internet. You can do these also by googling “Hakama” and “Uwagi”.

Material Notes

Cotton black and white fabric, it is the easiest to work on.

    I love Bleach! That’s truly amazing, I’d love to have a go at making Hakama (I do Jiu Jitsu and the Sensei all wear them, so if ever I become one too…) good job!
