Hello everybody,
This is my new blazer, and I am so happy with it.
It took a time to finish , first of all it was my first notched collar and i really wanted to get it as good as possible. I was a little bit worry about that “turn of the cloth” that it will not get right , but at the end I am very pleased .
The pattern is in size 36-44, I cut a size 36 and at the bust grade it to size 38. At the side seams a added also 5 mm by each seam.
The book "Tailoring: The Classic Guide to Sewing the Perfect Jacket " was very helpful, for the adjusting the lining pattern for a better fit in the shell, for the interfacing, shoulder pads and the piping on the lining.
I find that the fit is pretty perfect, i did not make a muslin , and believe it or not fits perfect, burda did a good job with this one.
The blazer is lined and I thought it will look great with a contrasting piping . It was also a first time but i find it really fun to do , and i think it does look great the fuchsia on the emerald lining.
I tried also the bound buttonholes, mmm i tried a few metods but i found the best to work with my fabric was the method from claire`s book High-Fashion Sewing Secrets…
Some old buttons that I am still not sure if I like them.
The color of the fabric is a black/emerald green .
At the end I am very happy with my new blazer, not so difficult to make, but I think that reading the sewing books did take longer than actually sewing :).
Thank you for reading,

It is lovely and so well made. It seems like quite a challenge to me. Maybe if I get the courage one day…

Thanks, I could not say exactly how long . I have time to sew only 1-2 hours a day ,and not everyday . But now that I have the knowledge ,next blazer will be much faster :)
