These shorts started out as pajama bottoms using vintage Simplicity 4312
Midway through making these, I realized that even though I had adjusted the original size 12 pattern for my measurements, the legs were still really wide and the waist was about an inch to small to comfortably fit over my hips.
I ended up making pleats at the outer thigh and creating a belt-like tie waist to add some much needed wiggle room. Keeping with my sewing goal for the year, I used French seams so that the inside looks nice and pretty:) I love my new shorts and I learned how to make a more professional looking garment and how to effectually save something from the trash pile through alterations while making them!
