A friend asked for a futuristic black look for a performance and I created this to go on top of an outfit.
I was inspired by the “DIY String Pendant Lamp” technique which can be found here:
I figured that this could be used for clothes as well. I made a pattern for the shape i wanted and then covered it in foil and proceeded make the design in organic circular shapes with the string. After drying for about 24 hours the outcome is slightly bendable so i was able to shape it a bit. The only suggestions i would make is to use yarn in the color that you would like which would save on paint, drying time and possible a cleaner look as well as maybe use wax paper instead of foil.
cotton yarn (the kind at hardware stores)
fabric paint/ (spray paint got into the cracks but came out gray)
