I made this dress with contrasting textures: shiny for the shell and matte for the contrast pieces! I liked this pattern and would make it again :)
Note #1: using two different materials with different weights, stretchiness, and hand made the bust point seam (where the centre front attaches to the contrast inset) difficult! If you’re sewing this as a beginner, I’d recommend using two different colours/patterns of the same material :).
Note #2: I only used fusible interfacing on the facings of the armhole and neckline.
