Description

I made this dress with contrasting textures: shiny for the shell and matte for the contrast pieces! I liked this pattern and would make it again :)

Note #1: using two different materials with different weights, stretchiness, and hand made the bust point seam (where the centre front attaches to the contrast inset) difficult! If you’re sewing this as a beginner, I’d recommend using two different colours/patterns of the same material :).

Note #2: I only used fusible interfacing on the facings of the armhole and neckline.

Check out my blog post for more pictures of the completed garment, and check this one out for some notes on the fitting alterations i did :)

Material Notes

dupioni silk lookalike fabric for the shell, peachskin stretch twill for the contrast
