This dress almost ended up in the bin! i have worked with dupioni silk before but never used it to create a dress that might have better suited a more draping fabric.
The process should have been a simple one, the majority was – the bodice was made with ease using New Look 6910 bodice pattern, the skirt is just a rectangle piece of fabric.
The most difficult part was inserting the invisible zipper. On the bodice it was fine but the skirt section i had to unpick twice as it just wasnt sitting right – in the process (and i think because of my frustration) i treated the unpicking with slightly more gusto than i should and as a result there are two small holes.
The dress is fully lined with cotton, and there is black bridal tulle attached to the skirt lining

Gorgeous dress! I feel your pain with the zipper, I’ve been having a hell of a time trying to fit my zippers lately.

Your dress looks great. Don’t worry about making holes when you unpick; you won’t do it again for a long time. It is an awful lesson but one all dressmakers do from time to time.
