I love this coat! This is definitely the most ambitious thing I’ve made yet. The pattern is great. It fits really well. The most difficult thing was figuring out how to do the lining (I found an article on the web about how to “bag a lining” and that worked out great because it was almost all done by machine). I didn’t do patch pockets I put pockets in the side seams. I skipped some of the details because it was hard to make small pieces and topstitch around the curves using the wool I chose. Now that it’s truly cold I can’t wear this coat but I’ll be living in it again when March rolls around. I can’t wait to try to make another coat!
Here’s the website where I learned how to line the coat: http://www.threadsmagazine.com/item/4366/bag-your-jacket-lining
Plaid wool and for the lining flannel-backed satin.
