Stephanie,I think you should try!Just follow the instructions and everything will be OK.It would be easier if the fabric is a little stretch.One of my first projects were pants and I even think they are easy to make.This is Burda moden pattern but from older isue and are my favorite,because I have made 5-6 pairs.

Good fit and they go great with plaid top :)
