Last month I shopped FabricMart.com and found this New York Designer Jacquard geomatric fabric. I envisioned myself wearing “Tea Dress” with this fabric. I ordered it on impulse. A week later it arrived and I made it in a heartbeat! Here it had became into reality with my own hands. This fabric is amazingly soft! I wish I could order more for making other projects! I’m thinking of making another in print fabric.
When I started making this dress, I tried to understand how to sew integrated pocket. It is not as difficult as it sounds. Eventually I understood the process of making it after I set it up on the dress form to see how it’d look as a “finished project”. I didn’t bother much into reading the instruction.
The dress is not lined. I serged the seams, hand stitched sleeve & bottom hem and added zipper on the back. The back facing was shorter than I anticipated so I added blue ribbon to extend the facing inside.
