I’ve been admiring all the stylish turbans that I’ve seen on tons of fashion blogs so I decided to make myself one for Christmas. I made a spool from a film canister and four lollipop sticks. Not very pretty ( I taped the sticks on with electrical tape) but it definitely gets the job done. Then I french knit (also called spool knitting, or finger knitting if you want a looser weave) 8 or 9 ropes that wrapped around my head.
After I knit the ropes I crocheted the ropes together along the long end. When I was finished with that I crocheted the ends of the ropes together to form a circle. The top was sort of hard but I made a sort of snake pattern and crocheted that together tightly, then crocheted that to the circle I formed.
I love how turbans and turban headbands look with rompers, very trendy and chic. So I picked the very cute “Bandleader Romper”: http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Bottoms/Rompers/Bandleader+Romper . Because the hat and outfit is so dark I decided to pick a bright red heel for a great pop of color. The “Going Places Heel”: http://www.modcloth.com/store/ModCloth/Womens/Shoes/Heels/Going+Places+Heel is perfect for a party look.
