I base this on Angela Kane’s fantastic and simple Jersey Polo Neck Dress pattern. I did not have enough fabric for a dress, so I made a long top instead. I also had to shorten and add a small pleat to each sleeve hem, and had to scrap the polo neck in favour of a small tie collar.
The collar was a little beyond my very basic sewing skills, so I had to hand sew the tiny bit of raw fabric that was left between ties (still have to figure out what to do about that…) but it is concealed under the bow, so no worries.
I could have fitted it a bit more to my body, I know, but it is sooooo very comfy as it is, that I decided to make a matching waist tie belt and leave it alone. I love, love, love this top, so I foresee a lot of wear for it.
Please excuse the poor photo quality, as I just learned that black is a terrible colour to photograph in an evening, against any background, at least for a make-shift photographer like me.
