This is one of my favourite Burdastyle patterns for a blouse. I love the shape it gives, and the pleat at the back is a brilliant idea! This is the third time I’ve used this pattern. The original has the double darts sewn on the outside, and I have done that in a previous project, but this time I kept the darts inside.
The fabric is a black broiderie anglaise I’ve had for ages. I took it out of the fabric cupboard this summer, determined to get it made. On Sunday I cut it out, and on Tuesday I started sewing it up, figuring it would be nice to have a new top to wear to the gift shop in Stratford where I help out on a Wednesday. Despite still having to place, measure, sew and cut the buttonholes this morning, and sew on 10 vintage glass buttons, I made it in time! The pattern used is from Burdastyle 01/2011, style no 107.
ps, the trousers are new too! Linen blend, Burdastyle 03/2004 #116.
Cotton broiderie anglaise, buttons are vintage glass.
